The farmhouse is stone built, facing south with a porch at the front and rear. At the front of the farmhouse there is a garden with seating and a barbecue.
Dixieland is situated at the end of a mile long lane and therefore is very quiet, your nearest neighbour some 1/2 mile distant.
Slingsby itself is not far from Malton, North Yorkshire. Easy access by car are Helmsley, Hovingham, Nunnington and Castle Howard. Pickering is slightly further away, being the start of an 18 mile stretch of Private Railway which goes over the North Yorkshire Moors as far as Whitby.
There are also the East Coast seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington within easy reach. Further inland is the Vale of York and York City which has many historic streets and museums, the Minster, the National Railway Museum and the new Viking Dig and Centre. Good walking area.
