Modbury – a gem for antique hunters – and Ivybridge – southern gateway to Dartmoor – are about 5 miles away and close by is Totnes the historic capital of Devon from where visitors can enjoy cruises up the River Dart the loveliest river in England. Dartmouth with its bustling streets shops and quayside and Salcombe a haven for sailors and water sports enthusiasts are well worth exploring as are magnificent Saltram House and Coleton Fishacre (both N.T.) whilst the myriad attractions of Plymouth offer a good day out. Miles of scenic coastal and estuary footpaths and cycle trails beckon and children will also enjoy Sorley Tunnel Woodlands Adventure Park and Pennywell Farm.
