Five cottages stand at the end of a private tree lined drive, in a south facing hollow, The Roundhouse, Beech, Ash, Pond Meadow and Little Leighs have been converted from 18th Century farm buildings. The three acre grounds include attractive lawned gardens with picnic tables and barbecues, a large playing field with swings and a copse for the exercising of dogs.
Pond Meadow is to the right of Ash Cottage and is in the lower part of the conversion with the two Velux windows on the left hand side being for the double and twin bedrooms on the first floor. The cottage has a further twin bedroom on the ground floor along with the main living/dining area, kitchen and shower room. The living room also has an open fire for those cooler evenings and is furnished with comfortable cottage style sofas and armchair, together with a television. The kitchen has oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and hopefully all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need for your stay.
The beams are still relatively low in this cottage, but those under 6'2" are safe albeit for the slightly lower doorways.
As with the other cottages at the front, Pond Meadow has been rated at the top end of three stars by ETC and is suitable for couples through to families of up to six people. Having a twin bedroom on the ground floor makes this cottage accessible for those who have difficulties with stairs. There is a small private garden with seating to the front of the cottage, where you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy the peace and quiet. This cottage is one of our two pet free cottages along with Ash Cottage.
This is a haven for walkers yet within a few minutes' drive of delightful North Coast beaches. Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven are both within a short drive. Other places to visit along the coast are Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow and Clovelly.
