Description of the cottage

Beili (pronounced Baylee) Glas, once a shelter for farm animals dating back to 1813, has been tastefully renovated to provide a very high standard holiday home on the edge of the Gower Peninsula near Swansea. The large farmhouse kitchen (including fridge with small freezer compartment, gas cooker, microwave and toaster) has flagstone floors and an exposed beamed ceiling. Washing and drying facilities are provided. The cosy lounge has leather sofas with digital tv, dvd, cd and a cabinet full of books and games. Upstairs the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. Both rooms have velux windows and antique pine wood floors. The modern bathroom has a bath, hand shower, handbasin and toilet . Bed linen and towels are provided and the cottage has gas central heating and wireless broadband. There is a small private garden with BBQ, picnic table and chairs which overlook the countryside. The owners care about their environment and Beili Glas Cottage has received a Green Dragon Award for its environmental standards. There are a number of pubs and restaurants in the village and a boating club situated on the estuary. The village is ideally situated to explore Gower Blue Flag beaches, castles, coves and coastal paths. Across the estuary there is fishing, bird watching at The Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre and cycling along The Millennium Coastal Path. There is also a motor racing circuit at Pembrey. The City of Swansea is just 4 miles away for shopping, theatre, cinemas, leisure centres, museums and marina. There are a number of golf courses nearby and Britain's newest racecourse, Ffos Las, is just a short drive away. For day trips you can visit The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney - a garden lost in time, Oakwood Theme Park and the limestone caves at Dan yr Ogof. You can even take a train from the local railway station to visit mid Wales and the vibrant City of Cardiff. Or, just get away from it all and relax.
