The salt marshes beach and boats at anchor provide a lovely view and the location is ideal for walking bird watching and water sports as well as for exploring the many attractions in the area. Reached by causeway the island is a favourite with the sailing fraternity and famous for the quality of its fish and oysters – ‘The Company Shed’ restaurant enjoys a fine reputation and the oyster bar should not be missed. Constable Country lies a mere 30 minutes’ drive away and Colchester’s castle and fine shopping are just 8 miles distant. The nearby country club offers golf and a health spa and shops and pubs are a 500 yard stroll. |
