| Description of the cottage
|
The Grove is a beautiful four bedroom self contained cottage on the Springfield Farm estate. With two bedrooms on the top floor with shower room and two bedrooms on the lower floor with family bathroom - including walk-in shower, The Grove will suit almost any combination of up to 8 guests. The ground floor comprises large kitchen/dining room and sitting room with 3 large sofas - both have oak flooring throughout and the kitchen is fitted with all new appliances including double oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer. The dining area has a beautiful French oval oak dining table - perfect for family meals or intimate evening dinners. Note please contact us for stays over 3 nights as daily rates will be reduced.
The most spectacular aspect of The Grove however is the view. Uninterrupted views for 180 degrees across Chew Valley Lake to Bristol, Bath and Wales beyond, it is widely recognised as the best view in the county. On a clear day it is possible to see over 30 miles from your vantage point in this secluded and beautiful spot.
The Grove has been painstakingly renovated for over 2 and a half years (completed late 2008) and has all the comforts you would expect from the very best holiday accommodation. The latest modern equipment - including broadband connection - coupled with beautiful furniture make this an unforgettable place to stay.
It is set within 20 acres of its own land with the owners resident in the accompanying farmhouse there is always someone on hand in case anything is needed. There are walks from your back door in every direction - The Grove sits both in an area of Special Scientific Interest and Outstanding Natural Beauty. Both the walks in the Mendip Hills and the birdwatching and fishing on the lake are recognised as some of the best in the country.
For those wanting to see the sights, Georgian Bath and Bristol are within 25 minutes to the North and Glastonbury is 25 minutes to the South. Wells - the smallest city in England with its outstanding cathedral is just ten minutes by car. There are an amazing array of things to do - from rock climbing in the Cheddar Gorge to caving at Wookey Hole - all ten minutes away from The Grove. In addition there is horse-riding available nearby as well as a superb selection of pubs and restaurants - the local pub has twice been named as West Country pub of the year and is within 1 mile of The Grove.
