One Fair Place, which is 18th century in origin, is situated in Fairplace, a particularly picturesque part of the village.
The cottage is built in the local honey-coloured Hamstone and is near the village common which provides wonderful views of the village and surrounding area.
The living room has both sitting and dining areas, log burning stove, Sky TV and DVD player, plus lots of books, information and maps of the local area. The kitchen overlooks the cottage garden and has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
Upstairs, there is a four-poster bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the other bedroom. The bathroom has a heated towel rail, shaver point and electric shower over the bath.
The rear garden leads up through lawns and herbaceous borders to a little arbour and patio - ideal for morning coffee or afternoon tea! There is offroad private parking in front of the cottage.
The village is picturesque and peaceful, set away from main roads amongst undulating countryside. This Hamstone village, mentioned in the Doomsday Book, has a beautiful church with an elegant octagonal spire, dated back to Norman times. The village pub, the Cat Head Inn, in Cat Street provides excellent home-cooked food.
Lots of National Trust properties and gardens nearby, including Montacute House. Lovely walking area. Ham Hill is close by - it had a large Iron Age and Roman hill fort at the top, which now has an Inn within it! Many other attractions locally, such as cider mills, the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Yeovilton, Sparkford Motor museum and, not too far away, Street Shopping Village.
The Dorset coast is only 19 miles away; Lyme Regis, famous for its fossils, can be reached by car in just over 30mins.
