Crowdecote is a picturesque village overlooking the Dove Valley in the middle of the Peak District, 6 miles south of the Spa town of Buxton, which boasts an Opera House and Gardens among its many leisure facilities and shops and banks etc. On the outskirts of Buxton there is a supermaket with a couple of other smaller supermarkets in the town itself.
Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Alton Towers, and the famous caves (Blue John, Speedwell and others) all lie within an easy drive. In summer, Well Dressings can be seen in many nearby villages. Hartington, famous for its Stilton, lies close by.
