Description of the cottage

This pretty cottage is Grade II listed with a newer extension offering family sized accommodation.
There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. With a brand new bath and shower room upstairs and a second toilet / sink downstairs.
The light and airy layout includes a large kitchen and a roomy whilst cosy living room with a wood & coal burning stove.
To the back of the cottage is a long lawned garden with fruit trees and lots of wild flowers. It is fenced and safe for children and looks out onto the water meadows. To the front is another lawned garden.

The cottage is one of three converted from this 16th century farmhouse, many years ago. It's timber-framed with beautiful oak beams in the original rooms.

Surrounded by fields on three sides, the cottage is ideal for a family with children and for nature lovers. You may well glimpse the beautiful white barn owl who hunts daily around the water meadow at the bottom of the garden.
The field to the side is home to four beautiful horses.
There are short, medium and long walks - for all sizes and ages of legs -directly from the door.
At night, there's no local light pollution and the sky is often amazingly starry.

In a small hamlet, it's a very quiet location. A car is recommended and there's plenty of room to park on the drive. Bicycles are handy too. The nearest pub is a 20 minute walk across countryside.

5 minutes drive away is the pretty market town of Saxmundham which has everything you need including a Waitrose. The train station connects to Liverpool Street Station, London via Ipswich in 2 hours total.
The lovely Suffolk coast is only 15 minutes drive: Aldeburgh, Orford, Dunwich and more are all in easy reach.

There is no end of adventures for people of all ages in this area.

- Snape Maltings is very near with a fantastic range of music events: http://www.aldeburgh.co.uk
- RSPB Minsmere is a great day out: http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/m/minsmere/

The Alde Valley where the cottage is located, is known locally for being a particularly special area.

Fantastic produce is available all around. Eggs from the neighbours and great fish, meat and vegetables from lots of nearby places including Friday Street Farm Shop.

We leave basic groceries in the cottage for people to use and replace which saves you starting your stay with a massive shopping trip.

Many of our friends and family have enjoyed staying at the cottage, repeatedly. Please also see the reviews here by previous holidaymakers, not known to us.
