A little further afield is Grange over Sands, with its promenade, and the historic market town of Kendal is only a short journey. Bigland Hall nearby, offers activities such as fishing and clay pigeon shooting, in addition there are two golf courses at Grange. One being a Fell course approximately 1.5 miles away and the other in Grange, which is 3 miles away.
The surrounding countryside provides an abundance of hikes for the more energetic visitor, and for those wishing for something a little more staid, there are dozens of sedate walks to choose from, choice is entirely up to you.
