The nine acre park lies within the Lake District National Park and is in a peaceful woodland area with two old mill ponds, streams and an orchard. Aynsome Manor hotel is renowned for its excellent restaurant.
Cartmel is beautiful medieval village which has several pubs and restaurants, including L'Enclume, one of the top restaurants in the country. The 12th Century priory, renowned for its secret passages, has a long and fascinating history and holds concerts as well as religious services.
Cartmel holds 6 races days a year and has beautiful scenery, attractive walks and lies only four miles from the southern tip of Windermere. Grange-Over-Sands, with its selection of shops and restaurants is 2 miles to the south and Haverthwaite is four miles away, where you can catch a steam train to the Lakeside.
