In Somerset yet only approx 11 miles to the Dorset coast a Traditional mellow stone barn conversion available for holiday letting. Set in 2.5 acres on the Dorset/Somerset border, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, commanding panoramic views over both farmland and woodland
Well furnished and equipped it makes an excellent base for walking and exploring the many historic houses and gardens in this area, including National Trust properties such as Montacute House, Barrington Court, Lytes Carey, and the privately owned gem Forde Abbbey.
The famous World Heritage Jurassic coast is within easy driving distance for Thomas Hardy country, Lyme Bay, Weymouth and the Chesil Beach, where you can enjoy superb scenic coastal walking, fossil hunting, swimming, fishing and boating or simply soak up the seaside atmosphere of these charming Dorset seaside resorts.
Enjoy inland family days visiting memorable places such as Glastonbury Tor with its far reaching views over the Somerset Levels, Chedar Gorge and Caves, Wells cathedral city and the Georgian city of Bath with its roman baths, museums, shops and restaurants. Also very locally you will find both the Yeovilton Air Museum and The Haynes Motor Museum with its fascinating collection of vintage and classic cars.
The picturesque small town of Beaminster is 4 miles away.
Wood Barn No. 1 is peacefully situated at the end of a long track in courtyard formation around a non working farmhouse. It has its own garden furniture, BBQ and use of the large lawned areas. There is ample parking and PETS ARE WELCOME by prior arrangement.
The village of North Perrott is a conservation area and has a good village pub with excellent restaurant. There is also a very good Farm Shop with garden centre and coffee shop. It is a beautiful walking area with several of the national trails crossing the village, taking advantage of the beautiful River Parrett and the start of the Parrett Trail.
WOOD BARNS 1 & 2 ARE SUITABLE FOR WHEELCHAIRS AS THEY ARE COMPLETELY FLAT INSIDE , HAVE NO STEPS , WALK IN SHOWER CUBICLES AND HAVE EXTRA WIDE DOORWAYS.
WOOD BARN 1 is a single storey barn conversion with a LARGE SOUTH FACING CONSERVATORY which is ideal for enjoying a quiet book or snooze on any less favourable days. It has a large loung/dining room with ample comfortable seating, a good selection of books, puzzles and games. A large and sunny fully fitted breakfast kitchen looks out over our own small orchard and paddock where roe dear are frequently seen grazing in small groups. There is also an abundance of visiting garden birds to watch. The bathroom has toilet and basin, full size bath plus a walk in shower cuicle. There is also a separate toilet and basin.
There are two good sized bedrooms one has a FOUR POSTER BED and the other two singles. Both bedrooms have wardrobes with plenty of hanging space.
The property is fully double glazed, is completely carpeted and has full central heating
