| The beach, which is sandy, with pebbles and rock pools, is a mile and a half away, where there is a small free car park. Welcombe is a village on the North Devon/Cornwall border. Popular with walkers, surfers and families, visitors return year after year to enjoy the peace, quiet and natural beauty of the area. There is a large nature reserve nearby, as well as the coast path. The wooded coombes and sunken leafy lanes are crowded with primroses in Spring. Little Nod is situated on a small, secluded site of 12 bungalows behind a thatched pub :- The Old Smithy Inn, which has an open fire in wintertime, serves excellent food, real ales and good wines. There is a village shop/post office and a pottery. There are other pubs and shops in nearby villages and Bude is about 20 minutes away by car. Aromatherapy available in the village.
Local attractions include "The Milky Way", "The Big Sheep", "Killarney Springs", Docton Mill Gardens, Hartland Abbey, Dartington Crystal and Rosemoor RHS Gardens. Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor are all easily reached for a day, as are Eden and Heligan. |
